The cable consists of plain, annealed copper conductors with foamed polyethylene (PE) insulation (2 pair Solid PE). The cable core is filled with petroleum jelly and wrapped with polyester tape.
The cable is screened with an Al/PE tape. Cables with less than (and including) 50 pairs have a tinned earth wire (7*0.2 mm) under the Al-tape. An outer sheath of black PE is applied over the cable core.
