Unrepetered Cables

Nexans URC-1 family cables have been in service since 1995, with more than 55 000 km of cables installed worldwide to date. Nexans unrepeatered cables are produced with various armoring packages (single and double, from light to heavy weight), and are designed to meet specific customer requirements.

Our cables may accommodate various fiber types and ITU-T specifications, incorporating up to 144 fibers in a single loose steel tube, which are filled with water blocking and hydrogen absorbing compound. Nexans offers a variety of cable designs, providing flexibility in mechanical properties, almost unlimited number of fibers with multiple steel tube designs, copper conductor for electroding and fault-finding, and outer sheath layer in both PP yarn and PE material.  

Nexans URC-1 cables are rated for water depths down to 3 000m and system lengths up to 500 km with the use of passive amplifiers; they and are supplied with a wide range of accessories – hang-offs, splicing kits, branching units, wet-mateable connectors, onshore and offshore terminations and more – and are tailor-made to meet customer demands.
