Submarine cable in the Tosenfjord
Dec 8, 2024
In 2023, we completed a turnkey 24kV submarine cable project in the Tosenfjord outside Brønnøysund, organised by Forte Vannkraft AS.
The submarine cable, which was manufactured at our factory in Rognan, has a dual function: to provide temporary power during the construction of the Kalklavelva power plant and later to secure critical infrastructure and transport the renewable energy the plant will generate.
When completed, the Kalklavelva power plant is expected to produce 15.3 gigawatt hours annually - enough to supply around 1,000 households with renewable energy.
More than a cable manufacturer
In such projects, we can do more than just supply Norwegian-made cables. We can also handle everything from technical advice to cable installation.
At Nexans, we work with this type of installation on a daily basis, both nationally and internationally. And even though we are part of a large international company, we appreciate the opportunity to contribute to important installations along the Norwegian coast.
If you have any questions about how we can help you with YOUR submarine cable project, please contact Customer Service at norge.kundeservice@nexans.com.
